Something Ineffable

There is something ineffable, other worldly almost, about beauty. It can’t be grasped or quite explained, but when you see it, you recognize it. This is what I felt when I arrived in Rome–the transcendence of the scenery around me. A ubiquitous beauty, almost like a tidal wave crashing down in the ocean. You’re completely surrounded by the wave, and powerless to move. Likewise, in Rome, you can’t help but stare. The monuments, the art, the churches, all of it starts to seep into your soul. Thus, when you wonder at the cause of your new lightness in step or whimsy of heart, it is not too far to be found. Stop and smell the roses, and when you have smelt them, wonder at your change.
