Surprised by the Vision

I have, for some time now, wanted to see the Northern lights. Coming from Australia, the phenomenon always remote, and the experience of it unlikely. However, I had a conference in the USA in November. Just three days or so before my flight, I was organizing my arrival with my friend who was due to pick me up, and I happened to recall to this friend that I’d love to see the Northern lights before I die. At the time, neither myself nor my friend knew that on the very night I was to land, the Northern lights would be visible in MN. So, I landed, was picked up and my friend turned to me and said, would you like to see the Northern lights? I could not believe what I was hearing. So, we drove to a prairie where others were watching the lights and I got to see them all red and green and bending and waving all across the sky. It was a truly beautiful moment–not only did I get to see that long-for sight which I thought extremely unlikely, but I was surprised with the vision of it! Double the beauty!
